Mississippi State football has fired first-year coach Zach Arnett, according to sources citing 247Sports Brandon Marcello.

Just two days after the tragic passing of Coach Mike Leach, Bulldog officials have removed the interim tag from Coach Zach Arnett and subsequently terminated his employment.

Zachary Arnett, born September 10, 1986, is an American football coach who most recently served as an analyst at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).

According to 247Sports, Arnett's contract with Mississippi State was the longest ever given to a coordinator at the school. Despite this, he is set to receive a significant pay increase.
