Beloved Pokémon Voice Actress Passes Away After Battle with Breast Cancer
Lillis Voiced Misty, Jessie, and Other Characters in the Franchise
Rachael Lillis, the voice actress who brought to life some of the most iconic characters in the Pokémon franchise, has passed away at the age of 46 after a battle with breast cancer.
Lillis was best known for voicing Misty, the Water Pokémon Trainer, and Jessie, a member of the villainous Team Rocket, in the Pokémon anime series and films. She also voiced other characters, including Delia Ketchum (Ash's mother) and Nurse Joy.
Lillis's passing was announced by her fellow Pokémon voice actress, Veronica Taylor, who voices Ash Ketchum, on social media. Taylor wrote, "Rachael Lillis was a beautiful person and a true talent. She will be missed by all who knew her."
